After realizing how expensive the home stay was going to be, Erin and I decided that it would be well worth it to research the idea of renting our own apartment for the month or two we are going to be staying in Buenos Aires. The thought of having our own place sounded really nice until I actually started looking for a place. It isn’t easy choosing where we will make home, having only the ability to view images online. I am also amazed at how expensive it is to rent a condo. After 2 months of looking almost daily I think we finally found something within budget and in the area of the city that we want to be in. The area is called Palermo Viejo. From everything we have read, I would describe it as the more hip, modern part of the city. A lot of cafe’s, restaurants, the Zoo, and a number of inner city parks surround the barrio where we will start our year abroad. Click here for photo’s of our new home.
